For everyone who doesn't read camera manuals...

When taking pictures with the flash on, stay at least a metre away from the eyes of animals or children since any closer can result in damage to the eyes. I wish I had known this sooner myself so that I wouldn't have subjected my poor dog to so many eye-blinding moments.
